What you can expect

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Defect Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing defects throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring that they are tracked, addressed, and resolved in a timely manner. You will work closely with stakeholders to maintain project timelines, provide architectural overviews, and present status updates in key meetings. Strong organizational skills and familiarity with VW-specific tooling and defect management systems are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track, manage, and prioritize defects using the KPM+ Ticket Wizard and other VW-specific tools, ensuring that all issues are documented, assigned, and resolved efficiently.
  • Collaborate to align defect resolution activities with project timelines and milestones. Ensure that project deliverables are met on time and within scope.
  • Oversee project schedules, identifying potential bottlenecks and working proactively to address them. Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding project status and timelines.
  • Provide architectural overviews to support defect analysis and resolution. Work with technical teams to ensure that defects are understood within the context of the overall vehicle architecture.
  • Take part in regular project rounds, presenting defect statuses and updates to team members and management. Prepare and deliver presentations using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Utilize Jira and Confluence for defect tracking, project documentation, and reporting. Ensure that all project-related information is accurately documented and easily accessible.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and suppliers in both English and German to facilitate collaboration and ensure project success.

    • Educational Background:
      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
    • Experience:
      • Proven experience in defect management and project management within the automotive industry.
      • Familiarity with VW-specific tools and processes, including KPM+, Jira, and Confluence.
      • Experience managing timelines and delivering projects on schedule.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Proficiency in using Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations.
      • Understanding of car architecture and its impact on defect management.
      • Ability to use ticketing and defect tracking systems effectively.
    • Soft Skills:
      • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Language Requirements:
      Proficiency in German is preferred for effective communication with stakeholders.
